Training Costs for Coaches Policy
All volunteers who choose to coach will be allowed access to training with full reimbursement for costs incurred to attend training after course completion with a passing grade. The following are programs that are eligible for reimbursement:
* SOC Competition Sport Workshop (2 days training)
* NCCP Introduction to Competition Part A (2 days training)
Coaches wishing to advance to Regional Qualifiers, Provincial, National or International Games must investigate the requirements needed to advance and submit to the Board for approval to take the course and have the budget allocated prior to attending. If approved, reimbursement will be made at the conclusion of the course with a passing grade.
All other training that a coach wishes to take must be submitted to the Board in writing for approval of reimbursement before the course is taken. If approved, reimbursement will be made at the conclusion of the course with a passing grade.
From time to time Special Olympics BC conducts sport specific workshops or other programs held throughout the Province of BC. Approval to participate at such programs will be at the discretion of Special Olympics - Sunshine Coast.
All training is subject to budget being available at the time costs are known to be incurred with priority given to SOC Level 1 first, sport specific second, and all other training third.
