swimming
Swimming has proven to be one of our most popular sports. Practice is held twice a week on Monday and Wednesday at the Sechelt Aquatic Centre. There is a core group that attends both practices and attends swim meets off the coast. The other group, the novices, practice only on Wednesday and are those swimmers learning the strokes. When a novice can do 2 strokes, usually the front crawl and back stroke, they move up to the twice a week group. In the novice group the swimmer is one on one with a volunteer coach. Some swimmers just like to be in the novice group and are welcome to do so.
The team swimmers ( twice a week) learn all 4 strokes adding breast stroke and butterfly to the 2 previously mentioned strokes. Also included in the training are diving, finishing, stroke improvement and racing, including relays. The swim program has 6 NCCP qualified coaches and each practice maintains a 3 swimmers/ 1 coach ratio. Caregivers / parents can watch from the viewing area. Contact information |

Track & field includes a number of exciting events, including shot put, standing long jump, running long jump, 100, 200, 400 and 800 metre runs, and relay events 4 x 100 and 4 x 400.
